Jatu Boikai

MSN, RNC-OB, C-EFM

Founder & Executive Director, Central Ohio PostPartum Extended Respite/Recovery (COPPeR) Center Jatu Boikai Stallings is a nurse leader, educator, and visionary entrepreneur with over 14 years of experience in maternal and infant health. Her passion for labor and delivery began in 2009 when, as a nursing student, she traveled to Liberia to volunteer at JFK Hospital in Monrovia. There, she delivered babies, assisted in surgeries, and saw firsthand the inequities in maternal care — an experience that connected her deeply to her African roots and ignited her life’s mission: to ensure that every birthing person receives safe, equitable, and compassionate care. Jatu earned her Bachelor and Master of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing and is currently pursuing her Doctor of Nursing Practice in Visionary Leadership at Colorado Christian University (expected 2026). She holds national certifications in Inpatient Obstetrics and Electronic Fetal Monitoring, and she is also certified in ACLS, BLS, and Neonatal Resuscitation. Her career spans bedside nursing, academia, and executive leadership. She has served as a Labor & Delivery Staff RN at major academic hospitals, a Nurse Manager of Maternity Services at Mount Carmel Grove City, an Assistant Nurse Manager at Northwell Health, and a Director/AVP of Nursing for a large healthcare agency. She has also shaped the next generation of nurses as an OB faculty lecturer and clinical instructor in New York. Today, she leads as Executive Director and Chief Nurse Executive of mOBiNurses Inc., a nonprofit providing free perinatal doula support to vulnerable families, and as founder of A Doula for All, a groundbreaking certification program that expands the doula workforce across birth, loss, and transitions. With the launch of the COPPeR Center, Jatu is pioneering a new model of postpartum healing — blending her clinical expertise, spiritual grounding, and cultural vision to create the first postpartum respite and recovery center of its kind in Central Ohio. A Message to Families To every mother, father, and family reading this: COPPeR was built with you in mind. As the mother of three small children, I personally know the joy, exhaustion, uncertainty, and love that pour into those first days and weeks after birth — and I know how often families are left to navigate it all alone. At COPPeR, you will not be alone. Here, you are held. You are honored. You are cared for by a team that understands your journey, celebrates your strength, and will walk beside you as you rest, recover, and step into this new chapter. Whether you come for a single visit or stay for extended care, my promise is that you will leave COPPeR feeling more supported, more confident, and more whole. This is not just healthcare — it is healing, it is community, and it is love in action. Rest. Recover. Rebirth. Because every mother deserves a village.
